Ancient Aegean art and architecture was created and inspired by three different cultures, Cycladic, the Minoans, and the Mycenaeans. The people of the Aegean cultures lived mostly on areas close to the Aegean Sea, in the Eastern Mediterranean and on the mainland of what later came to be known as Greece.
